Dr. Anat Caspi, Director of the Taskar Center for Accessible Technology, will participate in “Did It Work? Measuring Active Transportation Project Impacts” at the 2026 AASHTO Joint Council on Active Transportation and Committee on Planning Meeting in Baltimore.
Too often, the question of whether a transportation project delivered on its goals goes unanswered. This session will examine how state departments of transportation and their partners are building impact measurement into active-transportation programs, from establishing meaningful baselines before construction to tracking outcomes after a project opens.
The panel will bring together perspectives from transportation research, accessible mobility, state transportation implementation, and planning practice.
The session will be moderated by Francisco Lovera of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Panelists include Jennifer Dill of Portland State University, Dr. Anat Caspi of the University of Washington Taskar Center for Accessible Technology, Maddie DeClerk of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and Juliet Walker of Kittelson & Associates.
