2026 first King County Falls Prevention Coalition Meeting

January 16, 2026

Anat Caspi, PhD  - Director, Taskar Center for Accessible Technology will be sharing about their work to improve the built environment for everyone. Washington State is investing in access for all active pedestrians, walkers and rollers. The Taskar Center for Accessible Technology at the University of Washington first produced AccessMap.app, a personalized navigation app that makes it easier for everyone, including active adults and people with mobility challenges, to get where they need to go safely. Unlike standard map apps, AccessMap.app gives step-by-step walking directions that allow people to choose routes that avoid steep hills, steps, poor infrastructure and curbs without ramps.
